You'll get used to it pretty fast, i play on a 34 inch widescreen and the field of view should be about the same as a small display so I don't have an advantage by zoomed out. Boot the game using that shortcut and press CTRL + SHIFT + tilde key (next to numeric one on US keyboards, it is on the right side for PAL/EURO keyboards) to toggle the developer console. What a shame that the game doesn't offer more zooming out. Use classic keys instead to use this mod. I've also heard that it can be done in the dev mode console.
